New fields

Today I write in english so that my english friend wouldn't complain so much. And I also conquered these new field of sports in England. I'm talking about surfing and mountain biking, both fun and fairly exhausting.

I went to Plymouth to see a friend of mine, who is a mountain biker. I was aware that around there is good places for surfing too, a sport that I have wanted to try for some time now. I got a chance to try that out in a surfing school in a place called Polzeath, Cornwall. What a magnificient place! A beach between rocks, waves splashing to the shore and me in a rubber suit floating. A 2 hour lesson was pretty much enough. First there was a little warmup and rehearsal on the dry land and then to the water catching waves. Coach said to catch as many waves as possible, so I did. Splash and plop, was a bit hard to stay on the board despite the fact that we were only practicing lying on it... Up to next step and try to stand on it! Easy! On the dry land yes... Back to water and oops, nose up and cutlet is down again. Coach taught us yet another way to try and stand on the board, but for some reason nose just wanted to go up and poor old me went to water again. It was good fun and I will definitely try again!!
My active holiday wasn't just there, my slightly mad friend took me mountain biking. Since Elsa is not a mountain bike and my old one is neither, it was new to me. So were the uphills. And downhills. Meh, incredible! Twice on the bike, 3 and 6 hours x amount of kilometers. Crazy amount of uphills that made me pant like mad and downhills that made me scared. Incredible views at Dartmoor, lovely town of Tavistock and mud and sweat. Worth it, definitely!
Now back home, thinking of going to triathlon a little in kuusijärvi, will take wetsuit, Elsa and trainers with me.
